Meet Ike! With his people, he's super soft and cuddly and is always open to pets! When you prepare his food, he gets really chatty, which is super endearing. Ike loves to lay next to his people for a nap like a peaceful lovebug. Ike likes getting picked up and doesn't mind some loving while you do so. For the most part, Ike is easygoing and will always show up to keep you company. While he keeps himself entertained with toys, he also loves to roughhouse with other cats (and lounge around with them afterwards). Ike is hoping to be adopted with his friend Dexter so they can continue to play together!

We have worked hard to make our adoption process as easy as possible. We like to think of the process in four steps: application, phone conversation, meet and greet and adoption day. We will get back to applicants within a few days even if they were not chosen.

All of our animals are in foster homes. To meet an animal please fill out our adoption application and we will get back to you to schedule a meet and greet if it seems it could be a good fit.

Paws and Claws Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the Chicagoland area dedicated to preventing, and alleviating the suffering caused by abuse, neglect, and overpopulation. We help dogs and cats mentally and physically heal, and give them a chance to find love, a full life, and a forever home.
Our focus is on rescuing orphaned neonatal kittens, nursing kittens with their feral mothers, under-socialized cats, and dogs who have been at Chicago Animal Care and Control for too long. We see ourselves as the crossing guards for these vulnerable animals, helping them get from their past, whether that be from a traumatic home, a kennel, or a euthanasia list, to a safe and kind human who will love them.
