My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Minato! 💙🐾

Minato is a 7-month-old male grey tabby who’s as handsome as he is gentle. This beautiful boy has a soft, sleek coat and the sweetest face — but what really makes him special is his tender personality. He’s very shy at first, but once he feels safe, his sweet and talkative side begins to shine through.

Minato loves quiet company, soft voices, and the comfort of knowing he’s loved. He’s the kind of cat who bonds deeply once he trusts you, offering soft meows and gentle affection in return.

If you’re patient, kind, and ready to help a shy but loving boy blossom, Minato will reward you with a lifetime of loyalty and love. 🩶

You can view our available animals online or by visiting the shelter during regular business hours. Our knowledgeable and compassionate staff are here to guide you through the adoption process, which includes completing an application and having a conversation to ensure you’re fully informed and prepared to welcome a new pet into your home.

If you find an animal on our website that you’re interested in, we kindly ask that you visit the shelter to meet them in person before submitting your application. This helps ensure the best possible match for both you and the animal.

More about this shelter

The Gulf Coast Humane Society is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization dedicated to serving the animals and community of Southwest Florida. We receive no federal, state, or county funding, nor do we receive financial support from the Humane Society of the United States. Instead, our lifesaving work is made possible through the generosity of individual donations, grants, bequests, and community fundraising efforts.

As a no kill shelter, Gulf Coast Humane Society is committed to providing compassionate care for unwanted, neglected, and abandoned animals. We never euthanize due to space constraints or the length of time an animal has been in our care. Our mission is to give every animal the second chance they deserve in a safe and loving environment.
