Meet Basil! This one-and-a-half-year-old beauty found herself in a north Texas shelter, scared and disoriented. She went to a temporary foster and then was brought into the fold in a local Houston foster home where she gets along fine with the other dogs, but prefers to be an only dog in the house. Basil needs to go to a forever home with no children and none coming or going. Not a big fan of cats! Applicants need to be experienced dachshund owners who will have the patience to let her settle in and become comfortable in her new home. Her new person or people must understand that she can sense fear and gently make sure she understands they are the alpha(s) in her life. In the right home, she will be a loving and loyal pet.
