My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Twice the cuddles, twice the fun, BEN SOLO (aka just BEN) and REY are two bonded brothers who love people almost as much as they love each other. REY is a gray-and-white tuxedo male cat with a white chest and toes and striking golden-brown eyes. BEN wears a brown-and-tan stiped tabby coat with a white chest and tummy and white toes, and he has light-green eyes. Both boys are about four years old, healthy, and social. Rey is a complete cuddle bug. He is very vocal, loves giving forehead bumps, and enjoys snuggling. Ben also enjoys affection--he’ll scope out the scene for a minute or two before sneaking onto your lap. Rey and Ben were brought to our rescue when their owner was no longer able to care for them. The two best friends must be adopted together. They do get along with other cats, with a proper introduction, and have shown a lot of patience and affection around small kittens and children. If you’re looking to add a couple of cuddly, biscuit-making champions to your family, Rey and Ben might just be perfect for you!

They have been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, are negative for FeLV and FIV, and include a free wellness visit with our vet partners. You can meet BEN and REY at the cattery inside our partner PetSmart in South Eugene (2858 Willamette St), beginning Saturday 11/15.  Please submit an adoption application for consideration at CatRescues.org/Adopt or a paper copy available at the store, and an adoption counselor will contact you to set up a meet and greet.  The adoption fee for the bonded pair is $170, which allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community.  For more information, send an email to AdoptInfo@CatRescues.org or call 541-225-4955 option 1. Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All potential adopters are required to complete our application and contract. It is available on our website: https://catrescues.org/forms/cat-adoption-contract/ A paper copy is available at our adoption sites. Our contract stipulates the requirements for care of our pets. The documents are reviewed by our staff and together with a face to face interview we explore the potential new home. If all parties agree to the specifics of the contract the cat can go home. Adoption fee varies with age of pet.
All pets are current on vaccinations, health checked by our veterinarian, have been de-wormed, treated with flea medication at intake, spayed or neutered, and have been microchipped and tested for felv/fiv tested.

Go meet their pets

All of our cats are located either in one of our adoption centers or a foster home. If you are in the neighborhood, you are more than welcome to drop by one of our adoption centers to view available animals. Our adoption centers are located in both Eugene PetSmart stores and Wags! Dog Emporium. Feel free to call us at 541-225-4955 (option 1 for cats) and leave us your contact information and which specific companion animal or general animal type you are interested in and we’ll arrange to have you meet your potential new friend.

More about this rescue

Our mission is to provide care and find loving homes for cats and kittens of our community, with a focus on those with special needs. Currently we only work with Cats. We offer temporary housing in foster homes until they can be placed through our adoption process. We have adoption centers within both Petsmarts in Eugene, at Chad Drive, near Costco, and 29th and Willamette, at Wags Dog Emporium on Coburg Rd and the Eugene-Springfield Cat Lounge. Cat Rescue & Adoption Network works with humane societies, other animal rescue groups, the public and government animal services agencies to offer them relief from their overpopulation problem. All cats in our custody receive the medical care they need. Cat Rescue & Adoption Network is a non-profit organization. All money raised is used to help Cat Rescue & Adoption Network save as many animal lives as possible.
