My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Lily was brought in by her previous owner on August 28, 2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Lily! She's spunky, sweet and a little bit silly! Lily gets very excited to see her people - sometimes that means jumpy zoomies and a little mouthy play, but give her a toy and she's happy to play with that instead! She's done well with other dogs with slow, proper intros and could be a great playmate. She's used to a doggy door and loves a little backyard freedom. Just make sure to dog-proof - Lily's curiosity can get the best of her when left alone! And while car rides aren't her jam (she gets a bit queasy), she's always down for adventures closer to home. If you're looking for a new sidekick, come meet Lily today!

At SDHS:
Lily has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. She is now ready for her new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
