My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Encore — the cat equivalent of a boomerang. No matter where life throws me, I just keep coming back. I was trapped for TNR, but joke’s on everyone: I had a collar and a microchip. Plot twist!

Since 2021, I’ve had more homes than a Monopoly board. My first human moved overseas, my second family kept me for about two months (rude), and my third somehow misplaced me 18 miles away. I call it “mysterious adventure.” They call it… well, actually, they don’t call at all.

So here I am, auditioning for my final role: Your Forever Feline. I’m a certified lap ornament, outrageously affectionate, and FIV+ — which just means I’m positive I’m fabulous.

Four years. Four homes.
But this time? The fourth time’s the furever time.

Encore =^..^=, DSH Brown Tabby, Male, DOB 4/20/2021

Note: FIV+

Go meet their pets

We will be holding adoption event days with PetSmart on Ft Jackson Blvd and Two Notch Rd as well as PetSense on Garners Ferry Rd. These are partnerships that we've initiated and that have been greeted with open arms by these great organizations. MUCH More to Come!

More about this rescue

At Cat Around Town Project, we believe that by spaying and neutering as many stray and colony cats as possible, we are proactively controlling overpopulation at its source. All kittens and any cats that are adoptable are removed from the colonies and adopted to suitable homes. One day, when the supply meets the demand, there will be a home waiting for every kitten in our community. .
