Rocco came to us from Up North where he had been living in a homeless encampment and somehow ended up in impound scheduled for euthanasia when one of our partners rescued him. He is the sweetest boxer/pug? mix you will ever want to meet. Born October 2023 he is a lover of all people he meets, but is best if his new home is cat-free. He has been around other dogs, rides perfectly in a vehicle and is simply a joy to know. He is dreaming of a new Home for the Holdays!
All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee. Fill out an application to adopt at freeborncountyhs.org
When transitioning your new pet home please allow for at least 4-6 weeks for your pet to adjust to their new home. They will need this time to decompress, and adjust to a new routine and environment. During that time we will provide check ins and counseling to ensure a successful transition.
Please review all basic adoption requirements listed on our website before applying. We take finding the right homes for the animals in our care very seriously. They deserve nothing but the best! Please allow 2-7 days for applications to be processed.
If an animal is listed in foster care, these pets are not at our facility, but are in foster care homes. They are still available for adoption, and meet and greets are done with pre-approved applicants only.
