Gus joined Mules N More in August 2025 after spending the last 15 years as a pasture companion. Now, he’s discovering the world with fresh eyes — and he’s proving himself to be incredibly smart, curious, and eager to learn.
Gus is still building confidence, making him an exciting blank-slate project for someone experienced. He’s sharp, willing, and picks up new things quickly — he just needs the right person to guide him.
He stands on cross ties, loads on a trailer, is barefoot, and is great for both the vet and farrier. Gus is up to date on him rabies, 6-way, dental, deworming, and has a negative Coggins.
Gus is insulin resistant and will require a home without lush pasture. He is very well managed and we have recent x-rays and bloodwork upon request.

We rescue pigs, mules, horses, and other farm animals, offering them the medical care, shelter, and rehabilitation they require to thrive. Our primary mission is to find permanent, responsible homes for these animals, ensuring they are placed in environments where they can live happy and healthy lives.
In addition to rescuing and adopting out animals, we are committed to providing adopters with the education and resources they need to care for their new companions. We offer guidance on proper care, health management, and safe handling, ensuring that adopters are fully prepared to meet the needs of their adopted animals. Our adoption process includes thorough screening to ensure a good match between the animal and the adopter, and we provide continued support to ensure the animals’ well-being long after adoption.
We believe that education is key to preventing future abandonment and ensuring the longevity of the animal-human bond. By equipping adopters with knowledge and resources, we help ensure that our animals are not only rescued but also given a second chance at a fulfilling life in a supportive, well-informed home.
