My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

King is a goofy, sweet pup. He is handsome, neutered, vaccinated and chipped!
He and his littermates did not have a good first 9 months and found their way to rescue during a Law Enforcement action. Now he is ready to be someone's sidekick. King is the kind of dog that enjoys playing with his food dish...and barking at it. Maybe a Border Collie thing? He will chase livestock, and he is not good with cats or children. He is learning to walk on a leash, with a few kite flying sessions still. King has not been an inside dog, but all of the others in his litter seemed to have picked that up quickly in their new homes. Because they lacked human contact in the formative months, these pups don't readily key into people's voices. King is treat motivated and will come around very quickly. An experienced herding breed owner would be best for this guy. He will also need a securely fenced yard or long line and leash walks.

Additional adoption info

Persons adopting from me through internet contact are required to show me photos of the area where the dog will spend most of its time, a vet's number and the number of a person who has known the potential adopter for at least 5 years. I do not require a fee, donations are appreciated. If a dog does not work out for the adopter, I can usually take it back right away, but if I have no room, I will work to find a new placement.

More about this rescue

I am a retired public school teacher, mother of 3, grandma of 7, and I do this because I love to join people and pets. I have always been one to bring home strays, so this is just a part of who I am. I own a small hobby farm with dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, sheep and goats..
