My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ember’s background is shrouded in mystery - suffice it to say, she and her litter of 8 beautiful bunnies came into our care in September of last year. There were some concerns about the state of her nutrition before she came to us, but Ember was an amazing mamma and nursed all 8 babies to maturity. A couple of months after coming to us she gave birth to a second litter - 6 bunnies this time! (Yes, rabbits can be impregnated when they are already pregnant with, or nursing, a litter.)Ember nursed and mothered these bunnies as well without skipping a beat, earning her the Mother of the Year gold medal for 2025. Because of the October birthday of the second batch of bunnies, and the fall time of year of Ember’s amazing mothering achievement, the family have all been given October/fall/spooky-themed names. All 14 babies are now weaned and growing up, and it is time for Ember to step back from her duties and enjoy some quiet me-time.

Ember is a sweet girl and deserves to be treated with the same love and care that she gave her babies. She loves headpats and will sit still for them for as long as you are willing to pet her. She gets very excited for pellets and greens and chews with her mouth wide open. She has an overall very charming, sweet, calm, and quiet demeanor. She's an empty nester now and ready to be doted on herself!

We adopt to indoor homes only! If you are interested in adopting a bunny from Orlando Rabbit Care and Adoptions, or would like more information on rabbit care, please visit our website at: http://www.orlandorabbit.org. The first step in our adoption process is to complete an adop tion application, which can be found here: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/55856/generic . Then one of our volunteers will reach out to you via email to schedule a time to speak with you. If you don’t see the email in a day or two, please check your spam folder.

Our Adoption Fee/Donation for a single rabbit is $100, a pair is $170, and a triple is $200. This helps to offset the cost of having the rabbits altered, microchipped and vaccinated, as well as any medical care that may have been required.

Additional adoption info

For those that want to bond a new rabbit with an existing rabbit, we conduct bonding events where the home rabbit can meet several rabbits to find a potential match. We work with the adopting family to help ensure that the rabbits bond. We take back the adoptive rabbit if there is not a match.

Our adoption agreement specifies that we will take any adopted rabbit back, should the home situation change in the future.

Go meet their pets

We are a foster-based rescue where our available animals are kept in private homes.

You can see our rabbits online, then make an appointment to meet the rabbit(s) you select.

From time-to-time, we conduct adoption events where you can meet multiple rabbits. Because of RHDV2, these events have been paused.

More about this rescue

We are a rescue and educational group dedicated to the health, care and enjoyment of house rabbits. We believe that pet rabbits are family members and should be housed indoors, should be fed a healthy diet, should be spayed or neutered, and should receive quality medical care. Our organization strives to provide bunny parents with information to help them care for their rabbit.
