My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mika, a stunning 5-year-old purebred Alaskan Husky weighing in at a sleek 40 lbs and packed with personality! This happy girl greets the world with a loose, wiggly body and a big smile—she’s easy to leash, loves meeting new people, and gets along great with other dogs. Eve is friendly, food- and toy-motivated, and will happily chase a ball again and again (bonus points if you throw it). She’s a champ with petting and handling, though she politely votes “no thanks” to big bear hugs. On walks, Eve brings a bit of husky enthusiasm with moderate pulling, so a modified slip lead or harness is recommended while she practices her loose-leash skills. With no reactivity, guarding, jumpiness, or mouthiness noted, Eve is a joyful, social companion who would thrive with plenty of mental and physical enrichment to help her relax—especially outside the kennel. 🐾💛

More about this shelter

Hello! Thanks for checking us out. We are a 501-c3 non profit rescue and rehab service in Tucson, AZ

We rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome dogs from the streets of Mexico in cooperation with other animal rescue organizations in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Our shelter in Hermosillo, Sonora, Vidas Con Causa, currently has over 150 dogs. There, we provide medical care and a loving place for them to heal before coming to the US, then we foster and work on finding the perfect fit for adoption. You can also visit the available dogs at the rescue in Mexico. Our rescue partners spend a lot of time getting to know the dogs and we know MOST of their
perks and quirks!

We help special needs dogs, the amputees, the pregnant Pitties, the MexiMutts, those from small independent shelters who don't get much notice, the cancer patients. We provide round-the-clock care until these dogs are ready for rehoming.
