Hi, I’m Chevy. I’m a quiet, cautious girl who likes to take things at my own pace. I’m shy and prefer to meet new people on my own terms, so I’ll need an adopter who understands that trust takes time. When I first arrived in my foster home, it took me about two months before I felt comfortable being in the same room while my foster parent was awake — but now I’m much more relaxed and even enjoy quiet company when things are calm.
I avoid confrontation but will defend myself if I feel cornered or handled before I’m ready. I’m very smart and careful, always thinking things through before I act. For example, I won’t even eat a treat if I’m suspicious about it! That said, I absolutely love food and always finish my wet meals and treats once I know everything’s safe.
I’m playful in my own quiet way and love toys, my cat tree, and exploring when nobody’s around. I use my litter box perfectly and enjoy sneaking onto the bed to stretch when I think no one is watching. If I hear someone coming, though, I’ll dash off to my safe hiding spot. The secret to helping me come out of my shell is simple: give me space, but stay present. If you let me observe you without pressure, I’ll start to trust you more each day.
I might do well with a calm, friendly resident cat who can show me the ropes. My foster home had another cat who wasn’t a great match for me, but I was still interested in playing through the door and exchanging gentle paw taps. With the right cat, I think I’d come to enjoy their company over time.

Additional adoption info
Adoption fee is $225 per adult cat, and $300 for kittens (under 8 months old).
This ensures that the cats that come into our care receive the attention they need, are spayed or neutered, and receive a rabies vaccination at the appropriate age. For City of Toronto residents, the adoption fee includes a mandatory City of Toronto cat license that is valid for one year. As you can imagine, these fees only begin to cover our costs; donations and ongoing fundraising efforts carry us the rest of the way!
Note:
-Senior cats (8 years or older) have an adoption fee of the adopter's choice, vs. our standard adult adoption fee of $225.
-Our adoption fee for an adult bonded pair (8 months or older) is $175 per cat vs. $225 per cat. Thanks for giving two loving friends a home together!
