My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Hi there! My name is Raffa, and I’m a handsome three-year-old Rottweiler. I’m incredibly sweet and love everyone I meet. Now, you might be wondering how I ended up here at the rescue. Well, my owner had no choice but to surrender me after she was evicted and couldn’t find housing that would allow me to I stay with her.

I’m having a great time here at the rescue, but I truly want to find a forever home where I can be someone’s best friend. I’m well-behaved and walk nicely on a leash. I listen attentively and know how to sit, down, and give my paw. Oh, and let me tell you, I really love giving my paw! I’m also a toy enthusiast and enjoy playing with them. My favorite thing to do is to sit between your legs and get my ears and head rubbed. I am great with children.

I’m housebroken, crate-trained, up-to-date on all my vaccinations, and heart worm negative. I’ve also been neutered and microchipped.

While I don’t mind the other dogs when they walk past my crate, I haven’t had any playdates yet, so I’m not sure how I would get along with them. I  really do think I would be best in a home as an only dog though,  because that is all I’ve ever known. Plus, that means I’ll get all the attention I deserve!

If you’re looking for a laid back best friend to pal around with then I’m your guy! I can’t wait to greet you with my smiling face and my wiggly butt!

Additional adoption info

Adopting any dog is a long term commitment. We want our applicants to be prepared for that commitment and dedicated to a high level of care for their new companion pet. To ensure this, ARRF has a 5 step adoption process:

Step 1 : Complete an application at http://www.arrfnc.com/info/adoption

Step 2 : ARRF will contact you and confirm we have received your application (please email us at arrf@arrfnc.com if you have not gotten a response within 72 hours)

Step 3 : ARRF will review your application and confirm the information provided. This can take a week or longer depending on how quickly we receive responses.

Step 4 : ARRF will contact you to schedule a home visit. Home visits allow us to get to know you, prepare you for your new pet and answer any questions you may have.

Step 5 : ARRF will complete a review of all findings and contact you with a final decision. Upon approval, ARRF will arrange for your new family member to come home.

We are dedicated to saving as many lives as we can and understand that the faster this process is completed, the faster we can take in another dog. Please be sure to provide us complete, detailed information and all contact information to minimize delays.
