Jackie is a 4-year-old spayed female German Shepherd who came to the shelter with her sister Sally A1843615. Jackie is the more sensitive one of the duo and feels much braver (and happier!) when her sister is by her side. Jackie is affectionate and friendly. She loves people, walks easily on leash, and is extremely treat motivated—so much so that she’s developed a personal system for snack management. Jackie buries her treats for safekeeping, while Sally proudly takes on the role of “excavation specialist” and digs them back up.
Teamwork makes the dream work. Jackie enjoys toys, playing with her sister, and soaking up affection.. With her sister nearby, her sweet personality really shines through. All shelter locations are conducting animal viewing and adoptions on a first come, first serve basis. We are not able to move a pet from one location to another for your viewing.
The adoption fee is waived for all available pets in care and in foster homes. Standard adoption practices will still be in place, including background checks.

The City of Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department (AWD) expanded the shelter days of service to seven days a week with operational hours of 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and pet viewing from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m for both the east and west side shelter locations.
