This helps Feline Urban Rescue and Rehab, Inc. - NJ with pet care costs.
Meet Toby, a distinguished senior gentleman with a big heart, a bigger meow, and a story that proves cats have nine lives!
I’ve had the absolute pleasure of fostering Toby for the past three months, and this is actually my second time fostering him. (More on that in a moment.) Watching him blossom has been nothing short of amazing. He arrived shy and understandably shaken from yet another move, but day by day he remembered what it feels like to be safe. First came tentative pets… then confidence… and before I knew it, he was following me into the bathroom (we’re that close now) and sleeping in bed like he’d ALWAYS belonged there.
Toby has been through more than most cats. Six years ago, he was rescued from a house fire in which his owner tragically passed away. I was part of the rescue group that saved him that night. He was later adopted by a special-needs couple who loved him dearly, but three months ago they were facing eviction and, heartbreakingly, had to give him up. Through all of this upheaval, Toby has remained a gentle, loving soul who just wants a person to call his own.
And let me tell you—this is where adopting a senior really shines. Toby is past the kitten chaos. No curtain climbing, no 3 a.m. zoomies. Instead, you get a calm, affectionate companion who knows how to relax, appreciates the little things, and is endlessly grateful for kindness. Senior cats love deeply—and Toby is proof.
He’s a sweet boy with soulful puppy-dog eyes, a fantastic conversational meow, and a serious love for Greenies (especially when hand-delivered). He enjoys both wet and dry food (though wet food is his favorite), and he’s a big fan of drinking from a water fountain. He’s settled, predictable, and ready to enjoy the cozy chapter of life: naps, snuggles, and being adored. Toby is truly coming out on top—and now he just needs his forever person to finish the story with him.
As a bonus, Toby comes with a large stainless steel litter box, a comfy cat bed, a cat tree, and a wheeled cat carrier (perfect for a big guy like him).
Toby is currently at Petco in Easton getting some extra exposure. If you have questions or want to meet this incredible boy, please reach out to me: Donna – 610-704-2721
Give Toby the chance he’s been waiting for. His best years are ready to begin—with you.
