My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

“Hoichi the Earless” is a very special and brave boy. Rescued from the streets of Compton, he was found with his ears mostly removed. While we aren’t sure how and why his ears are seemingly removed, what we DO know is that this little guy is a brave warrior and an absolute lover. Hoichi has been extremely affectionate with his rescuer and now our volunteer team - he absolutely loves being pet and snuggled. He lets you know with some purrs and we recently heard a little tiny meow (he was silent the first few days).

In Japanese folklore, Hoichi the Earless was a musician whose spirit could not be silenced — and our Hoichi lives up to his name. This charming, earless wonder has a story of his own:  a survivor, a snuggler, and a storyteller in feline form. With his soulful eyes and gentle purrs, Hoichi reminds us that true beauty comes from courage and kindness.
