A Little Bit About Me

Rudy and Rio are a very special bonded pair of kittens! These boys are a little on the shy side and would thrive in a quiet home, but they are gaining confidence each day. Rio recently underwent a leg amputation, but this hardly slows him down! Here's what their foster says about them:

'These boys are food motivated and love to play. Sometimes it takes a little coaxing to get Rudy to join in, but he's getting more trusting by the day and he'll practically get in your lap for Churu. Rudy is right there with Rio at feeding times and eagerly comes for treats. Rio loves to sit close to us, follows us around, and enjoys pets. He will roll over on his back if we give him gentle pets during his afternoon siesta. As a tri-pod, he needs a little extra care to ensure he doesn't get into tough situations, but for the most part he is just as playful as Rudy. He jumps up to medium heights (like on top of his carrier or low chair) and does just fine. They both are very playful and chase the wand toy all over the room.'

If you're looking for two very special kittens, have a calm home, and have a bit of patience to continue helping them come out of their shells, Rudy and Rio may be your guys!

More about this rescue

We are a group of people dedicated to rescuing dogs from crisis situations, some of which include euthanasia by animal shelters, neglect and other forms of abuse, or "free to a good home" ads, which result in dogs being bounced from one home to another, or being acquired by animal brokers ("bunchers") and sold to research laboratories where they are used for testing then discarded ("cruelty industries").

NBCR&P works primarily with 5 herding breeds, and herding breed mixes. On occasion, NBCR&P also rescues and places other breeds. We foster our dogs in a home environment, rather than a kennel, if at all possible. We take pride in our promise that at any time and for any reason in the dog's life, if the need arises, he or she has a safe place with us ("return to rescue" policy).
