My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gizmo was found at a jobsite at just six weeks old and, after time in foster care, was taken in by the Nine Lives Foundation to help him find his forever home. He’s a playful, toy-loving climber who enjoys hiding under blankets and is known for his signature napping pose—flat on his back with paws stretched out and a little heart-shaped nose on display. A cuddle bug at heart, Gizmo loves lap time, belly rubs, and back scratches, and he previously lived with an older cat and a dog, suggesting he may do well with other pets given proper introductions. If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate companion, Gizmo might be the perfect match.

More about this shelter

The Nine Lives Foundation is a 501c3 nonprofit community-based organization dedicated to rescuing cats and kittens from high-kill shelters and at-risk situations throughout Northern California and placing them in permanent, loving homes. In addition to saving cats from senseless euthanasia, Nine Lives Foundation focuses on providing low cost spay/neuter surgeries for the community and other cat rescue organizations and supporting TNR (trap-neuter-return) of ferals and strays to reduce the number of unwanted cats and kittens born in our neighboring communities and consequently entering the Bay Area's over-crowded shelters.
