My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Wishbone, but you can call me Wishy.  I’m not even 1 yet so I have lots of kitten energy in me still!  I was surrendered because my person realized they didn’t have the proper time for me and felt I would thrive in another home.  I love to play … wand toys and chasing the laser red dot are my favorites (but any toy is fun to me).  When you come to meet me, you will find me in a lobby condo, not in the cat adoption room so please look for me!  Since I’m still a youngster and I am active, it’s a great space for me with the climbing ladders and extra space for toys.  I like quiet time and snuggles too but don’t be surprised if I quickly want to play again.  When you come to meet me, start with no toys to know my quiet side.  Once we start playing, I can get over excited easily (I am still a kitten – just bigger) so please don’t let your hands be the toys.  If you’re looking for action, I’m your gal.  Please come meet me.

More about this shelter

Humane Animal Welfare Society (HAWS) is an open-admission, no-kill shelter dedicated to strengthening the relationship between animals and humans through adoptions and education – making a more compassionate community possible.

Our mission is to lead the community in animal welfare and assure sanctuary for animals in need. To that end, we envision a community where all animals are treated with compassion, dignity and respect. We invite the public to join us in our cause to spread humane sentiments throughout our community for the betterment of animals and people alike.

Incorporated in 1965, HAWS has grown along with our community, evolving into a vibrant organization and a lively facility that is the #1 resource for pets and their people.
