Phoenix is a 4–5-year-old Pitbull mix who came to our emergency hospital after a good Samaritan found her severely injured on the roadside. Her wounds, likely the result of multiple dog bites, required extensive hospitalization and ultimately a leg amputation. Despite everything she endured, Phoenix remained gentle, loving, and resilient throughout her recovery.
She is spayed and up to date on vaccines and preventatives and continues to live life joyfully—her missing leg does not slow her down in the slightest. Unfortunately, due to her past trauma, she is dog-aggressive and must be the only pet in the household. That limitation has made it extremely difficult to find her a suitable home, even though she has touched every heart in our clinic.
