My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**This is a Courtesy Post".

Meet Ariel and Thalia, two inseparable 9‑year‑old Terrier mix sisters weighing just 5 and 7 pounds. Rescued from a hoarding situation, these tiny girls were among the lucky few to find safety, and they have been side by side since puppyhood. Ariel is a sweet soul who wins hearts with her affectionate personality and endless kisses, while Thalia follows closely behind, melting hearts with her big brown eyes and devotion to her sister—she cannot bear to be apart and will even cry if separated. Together they eat, sleep, and visit the vet, never once fighting, always moving as each other’s shadow. Their foster mom has discovered they adore evening stroller rides and will peacefully curl up side by side on your bed or in their dog bed, greeting you at the door in perfect harmony and bringing double the joy every day.

Both girls are spayed, had their teeth cleaned, and received full veterinary care at Cuyamaca Vet Hospital. Ariel and Thalia are now searching for a quiet, loving home where they can stay together forever, ideally with no cats, no small children, and someone who works from home who can give them the patience, time, and affection they deserve.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Whether you are interested in a specific dog or would like us to recommend a dog that fits you best, you can expect the following adoption process:

1. The first step in the adoption process is to complete an Application. http://rescueachi.com/adoption-application/ We will review your application and verify the information upon receiving it. If you rent your home, your landlord will be contacted for approval so it is important to make sure to include your landlord’s name and number on the application.

2. Once your application is approved, we will make arrangements for you to meet the dog in person. This interview is usually arranged by the dog’s foster family and may take place at your home or mutual location. We encourage everyone who lives in the household, especially children and other pets to meet and interact with the dog during this interview.

3. CRSD reserves the right to visit your home for an inspection during the adoption process.

4. Once you are approved, you will be asked to sign a legally binding Adoption Contract and pay an adoption fee.

Adoption Fees
Because we are an all-volunteer group, 100% of all adoption fees are used to cover medical expenses for the dogs in our rescue. Medical treatments include general health exams, dogs spay/neuter surgery, dental work, vaccinations, flea preventative medicals, microchip and microchip registration.

Any additional donation would be greatly appreciated, and this portion may be tax-deductible. Donations help us to continue to care for these special dogs.

More about this rescue

We are a rescue consisting of an all volunteer organization where all of our dogs are in private homes everyday. We do not have a shelter and our dogs are not kept in cages. Our dogs are from county animals shelters or from previous owners that are no longer able to care for their dog. All of our dogs are started on housebreaking, however, we do not guarantee that they will be housebroken. We offer education on how to housebreak a dog as well as other information on different situations. Every dog is spayed or neutered, current on shots, dewormed, frontline for fleas and ticks. Thank you for considering a rescue dog!!!
