My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Rocky was brought in by a community member.

Why Rocky might be the one for you:
Rocky - what a face with his black masked eyes accented by little beige eyebrows and perky ears. A makeup artist could not do better. This guy is a darling. He has a puppy look but he is a young adult. He probably missed being trained as a puppy and will benefit from positive reinforcement training to make him into your good adult dog. We have resources to help you with that. He is easy to leash, walk and return to his kennel.. A consistent routine and fun, enriching activities will help Rocky get used to his new home and feel like part of the family! At only two years old, he has a lot of energy and will want plenty of physical exercise to help him stay happy and balanced. An active home will be fine for Rocky because he is an action dog. If you'd like to learn more about Rocky come visit us at the San Diego Campus.

At SDHS:
Rocky has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed neutered. Rocky is is now ready for his new home and he hopes that is your home.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
