My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Indoor only**

Carrot, aka Carrot Cake, aka Care Bear, (she has a lot of names... lol) is a sweetie patootie! Her favorite things in life are a cat tree in the window, her little secluded hut to cat nap her days away and a Feline buddy she can pal around with! She is a fantastic eater who loves her Churu and Fancy Feast packets, not too mention her kibble. She purrs nonstop and loves head and back scratches and loves to be gently Brushed. Carrot had a hard beginning living on the streets and we can't say for how long she was on them. Because of this it took some time and patience for Carrot to trust and feel safe in her new surroundings. But it was worth it. By giving her that time has shown how sweet she truly is. We may never know if she had an actually family at one point, but her sweetness and ability to trust and seek affection, tells me she probably did. While Carrot may not be a cat carrying, shoulder kitty, she does like to lay next you while you work, watch tv, especially if you're in the sunshine!
She is just starting to climb on my lap, so being a lap kitty may not be too far off!! She loves her toys. Springs are her favorite, especially at night!
Night time brings out the kitten in her, while she hops and sprints her toys all over the place! Any adopters will need to have patience and allow her a small confined space, preferably with a window, like an office or extra bedroom, where she can have time to decompress and acclimate to her new home. Adopters with other sweet cats looking for a new best friend would be ideal. Carrot desperately wants the companionship of a Feline friend. My cats, unfortunately, feel they have all the friends they need and don't take too kindly to her head butts and affection attempts. She needs a home where she can truly shine and while I love and adore her, I know this isn't the home for her.
Could it be yours??!!

Carrot’s life of living on the streets was hard on her immune system, as she has a chronic congestion issue that may always be with her. It doesn't affect how she eats, plays, and sleeps, but adopters should know that she will probably have to take a daily supplement in her food to keep it in check.

Adoption fee of $100 includes spay/neuter, FIV and FELV combo test, up-to-date rabies and distemper vaccinations, deworming treatments, flea treatments, and microchip.

More about this rescue

Shadow Cats TNR (SCTNR) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to assisting animals in need. Our mission is to establish and manage programs for the welfare of community cats, companion animals, and pet owners needing assistance, in collaboration with other community partners, rescue groups and shelters.

We specialize in controlling the community cat population through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR). As a result of the TNR process, we often acquire, along with feral cats, friendly and semi-friendly cats and kittens. We work to place these cats into appropriate homes through our adoption and barn cat programs. SCTNR seeks to educate the public on the importance of spaying/neutering all pets as well as controlling the cat populations in our county.
