Sheldon is a sweet, shy, sensitive, affectionate, sometimes reserved little boy. He is the litter mate of Ella Sheppard, whom he does everything with (pictures don’t lie!!). He and his litter mate, Ella, have a very sad backstory. Their human passed away and the remaining human in the house abandoned them and the home, causing the landlord to put all of the belongings and kittens out on the street. They literally lost everything. Sheldon, at intake, kept his tail tucked tightly under his body and kept his back hunched at all times to make himself as small, and invisible, as possible. Although, once Sheldon realized that we are where the consistent cuddles, kisses, toys & food come from he was very quick to come out of his shell. Sheldon LOVES to snuggle & cuddle and take LONG naps in someone’s lap, especially right after finishing one of his meals. He sleeps so soundly in a lap that he sometimes drools:) Sheldon’s reserved personality doesn’t apply if toys are involved. Bring out the toys and he becomes an excellent hunter & pouncer! He LOVES a good crinkly tunnel to run through at top speed and will even leap from tall trees to pounce on it. He’s extremely smart! He mastered/emptied a sneak-a-peek full of cat soccer balls in under 2 minutes! And then attempted to insert a toy spring into it! Sheldon has yet to meet a toy he doesn’t like! Sheldon loves to be up high hanging out in a tree, observing what’s happening outside the window. While observing from his tree he’ll talk about what he’s witnessing. Sheldon LOVES to talk! He talks to his toys; to call for us to come cuddle and kiss him; and to Ella. His way of talking isn’t to meow, though, but to make the sweetest, closed mouth sound that’s so indescribably adorable. The best way we can think to describe it is as a closed mouth cooing/chirping/sing-song-y sound; kind of like a dove yet still not quite the right description. You MUST hear it in person!! Our hearts overflow every time we hear him!
