Zane is a handsome 1–2 year old Pit mix with lots of love to give! He came to us back in August after being found tied to a tree in Sayville. Sadly, no one ever came to claim him, but Zane hasn’t let that stop him from hoping for a second chance at a real forever home! Zane is an active, athletic boy who loves to run, play, and explore. He’ll do best with an experienced owner who’s committed to training and can give him the structure and exercise he craves. He’s smart, eager to learn, and will thrive with the right owner. Zane gets overlooked daily but still shines bright with personality. He’s ready to be someone’s loyal companion, adventure buddy, and best friend.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our adoption procedures have changed.
Our new procedures are as follows:
First view our animals on our facebook page under photos, on Petfinder.com or Adopt-A-Pet.com. If you are interested in any of our animals, email us at animalshelter@islipny.gov and we will send you an application to complete. When you email the application back to us, please list the dog/dogs name and tag number.
Once the application is complete and we have all the proper paperwork, we will contact you to make an appointment to come see the animal. Appointments will be spread out so we don't have two families here at once. All introductions and meet-and-greets will be done outside.
We thank everyone for your patience, understanding, and support through this difficult time. Everyone stay safe and healthy!
