Acai is a 5-year-old, 106-pound Cane Corso mix with a quiet, thoughtful presence. He was found as a stray and is still getting his bearings in the shelter environment. Volunteers describe him as calm and very polite. Outside, he explores at his own rhythm and checks in for treats, which he takes with impressive gentleness for such a large dog. As he's started to settle, staff have noticed him engaging more with the people he knows.
When meeting other dogs at the shelter, Acai remained relaxed and friendly, greeting with soft body language and choosing a calm, low-key interaction.
Acai will do best with an adopter who has experience with large guardian breeds and can give him the patient, low-pressure environment he needs to continue building confidence. With time and understanding, he's the type of dog who may form a deep bond and enjoy a peaceful home where he can feel secure.
Please submit an adoption questionnaire to meet Acai.
