Here's what the humans have to say about me:
If your home could use an XL cuddly couch potato to keep you warm this winter, look no further than Athena! This sweet girl was surrendered to the shelter by a family who had WONDERFUL things to say about her. In her former home she was good with other large mellow dogs, cuddled with cats, was house and crate trained and liked to go hiking. She was described as an affectionate, Velcro couch potato who would lean her nearly 100lbs into her people for pets! She was independent, well- behaved when left home alone, likes car rides, knows ‘sit’ and ‘wait’ and was overall a GREAT dog! Shelter volunteers share this sentiment:
“Athena is a big, beautiful senior lady who is gentle, friendly, playful and sweet! She was easy to walk over to a play yard where she explored and jumped around, playing with her kennelmate. She intermittently came over to me for pets and was a joyful presence during our time together. She was affectionate but not pushy and got along well with her kennelmate. ?She’s a pleasant gal and I look forward to hanging out with her again! (Although I hope she finds her furever family first!)”
“Athena has the prettiest smile and she’s the bestest girl. Easy to leash and not reactive and listens well (smart girl!).”
Athena shares her kennel with another PACC pup and has been independent and easygoing when meeting other dogs in playgroup. She may like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to ensure a good fit.
Athena was well loved by her former family and it was obvious that she was a beloved companion. She was a bit of a beauty queen and enjoyed being pampered by her family and snuggling on the couch with them. Being with her people was her favorite thing in life and we know she’s dreaming of her furever retirement home with a devoted family. Athena is an amazing girl, house and family-ready, and more than ready to go home today!
