Rufus is a special kind of dude. He’s very smart… too smart for his own good. He can be find aggressive in the sense that if you try to put something in his bowl while he’s eating he may show teeth or growl. He always warns by growling if he feels uncomfortable with anything.
He has bad separation anxiety. Esp in new environments. But he does adapt once he knows the routine. He is medicated with gabapentin, 1/8 of acepromasine while I go to work and it allows him to sleep. He also gets generic Zyrtec, claryritin for his allergies. He does get cytopoint about every few months. He’s not a picky eater when it comes to his dog food. Treats… typically eats all. If you give him a treat, don’t try to take it away. That’s where he gets aggressive. I’m his 3rd home after the age of about 1 yr old when I rescued him in Florida. He was very emaciated. Pretty confident he was abused and food was withheld when he misbehaved. He has old man vibes. He hates being disturbed when sleeping.
