My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Hashbrown - two-years-old, 51 lbs., small, cute, and full of heart.

Hashbrown is a lovable mix of snuggly and silly.

He's potty-trained, knows how to sit, and always wants to make his people proud.

He has two main sides:

- Calm cuddle buddy who melts into you.

- Goofy, playful kid who loves carrying his toys—especially his ducky and teddy bear—on walks to show them off.

Hashbrown loves toys, loves hiding them for later, and loves meeting new people. He gives excited kisses and tries his best to be the goodest boy.

Fun fact: He loves to run… even though he's not the fastest. Please don't tell him...he is VERY proud of his running. After a short zoomie session or a one- or two-mile walk, he's ready to rest.

Food: Very enthusiastic eater. A slow-feeder bowl is best.

Leash manners: Walks nicely in a harness. Can pull if he sees cats or reactive dogs. He does best with calm dog friends and has done well with kids.

Hashbrown does have some anxiety from his past. When he feels overwhelmed, he self-soothes by sucking on a special blanket or toy, like a little pacifier. It's sweet, comforting, and part of his healing.

Through it all, he is full of love. He wants to please, loves every person he meets, and is ready for a family who will help him continue to grow and feel safe.

If you want a sweet, silly, toy-loving companion with the biggest heart, Hashbrown is your boy.

My adoption has been sponsored!

Additional adoption info

*The shelter is currently open for adoptions by appointment only. Please email us at adoptycas@gmail.com if you are interested in adopting.
For other shelter services, please call us at (530) 668-5287*

To adopt you must have a photo ID and proof of your current address. If not on your ID then bring in a bill with your name and your current address. If you rent you must provide a lease clearly stating the pet policy or provide a name and phone number for your landlord so that we may confirm the pet policy. If you own your home you may provide a mortgage statement or property tax bill for proof.

You must be 18 years or older to adopt.

If you wish to adopt a dog and have other dog(s) at home, please bring them with you to the shelter so that they may meet. Even if your dog is wonderful with other dogs, many of the dogs at the shelter have come in as strays so we have no history on them and need to be sure they get along with your pet(s).

If you have any other questions, please go to www.yolocountysheriff.com or call the shelter for more information.
