Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Lenny is a 9-month-old male Catahoula Leopard Dog/Labrador Retriever mix with the softest, most beautiful brindle coat you’ve ever seen. He came to us from a high-kill shelter in Texas, where his time was nearly up. The small scars on his face hint at a rough start, but those days are far behind him—now Lenny is thriving, joyful, and ready for his forever family.
Lenny is the definition of a happy-go-lucky pup. He greets every person and every new situation with a wagging tail, and he’s never met a stranger—human or canine. He loves to play with people but really lights up when he’s romping around with other dogs; he hasn’t met a dog yet he couldn’t turn into a playmate.
After a fun-filled day, Lenny is perfectly content to curl up on the softest blanket he can find and snooze peacefully until he hears someone else wake up. He’s fully crate-trained and potty-trained, and although he’s a big boy, he’s still very much a puppy. He’s working on his basic manners—especially not jumping or mouthing—but he’s incredibly food-motivated and learns quickly.
Lenny would thrive in just about any loving home looking for a cheerful, affectionate companion. He’s ready to experience all the good things life has to offer—he just needs someone to show him the way.
If you’re looking for a sweet, spirited, loyal young dog to brighten your world, Lenny is your boy.

More about this shelter
We are a non-profit organization out of Monticello, IA specializing in the care for dogs and cats that need us. Our care does not stay local, as we take transports from all over the United States, and adopt all over as well!
Our mission's primary focus is to help reduce the homeless pet population by finding homes for spayed/neutered pets, and helping educate WHY this process is so important, and the proper way to care for pets!
