My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

🐾 Meet Socks — Your Future Little Spoon 🐾

Socks is a charming, chatty gentleman who is ready to find his next home! This sweet boy is currently on a well-managed weight-loss journey, and he’s doing great. He may need a little extra help with grooming his hindquarters until he can reach them comfortably on his own—but he’s very patient about it and appreciates the assist.

Socks has big feelings about other animals. Dogs? Absolutely not. Cats? He prefers to take his time getting to know them, but once he decides a feline friend is acceptable, he’s perfectly tolerant—and for reasons known only to him, he adores kittens.

When it comes to playtime, Socks is all in. Laser pointers and wand toys are his absolute favorites, and he’ll happily show off his zoomies and pounce skills. He’s also a very vocal boy who loves to “chat” with his people. If he feels he’s not getting enough attention, he may give a gentle love bite to remind you that he is, in fact, the star of the show.

At night, Socks transforms into the world’s coziest cuddle buddy. He sleeps under the covers and will curl right up next to you—he will be your dedicated "little spoon."

If you’re looking for a talkative, affectionate, quirky companion with a big personality and an even bigger heart, Socks is ready to wiggle his way into your home (and under your blankets).

Could this snuggly chatterbox be your match? If so, please reach out to his Adoption Ambassador, Leann, at leann.adoptions@gmail.com 🐾💛

More about this shelter

Asheville Humane Society is about hope, not heartache. As Buncombe County’s critical safety net since 1984, we are always here to save and protect every animal. We have mastered the art of saving lives within our walls and now we are going even further, helping our community’s pets and their people thrive together. We are going beyond a no-kill community to ensure that each animal has the quality of life they deserve – a life worth living.
