Meet the Pet
This helps Peninsula CatWorks with pet care costs.
She is talkative when she’s hungry and wants attention. She prefers humans over cats but would do just fine with a cat similar to her personality. Her tongue sticks out, she does not like her face touched and loves to sleeps on or next to her person.
I was alerted about a long term living motel that had a feral colony and some of the cats didn’t look well. I found out that an acquaintance of mine had been TNRing there about 5 yrs prior and there was an elderly gentleman that kept some inside his room (before he left) and a woman that was feeding the ones outside.
Upon my first arrival, I saw several cats, some ear tipped and a few kittens. I spotted Oyster. She was very skinny and had eye discharge and her tongue was hanging out. She was very friendly and a bit scared. Didn’t eat the dry food. I knew she was either very ill or had dental issues or both.
She will take a little bit to feel comfortable around new people but once she does, she loves to eat and cuddle, purr and make biscuits. She will probably do best in a more quiet home. Older kids or kids that are cat savvy should be fine. She adores my 11 year old daughter…sleeps on or next to her every night. She will do alright with other friendly cats. This sweet girl is now ready to find her forever home ?
On 9/3/25 I was able to trap her and get her fully vetted (spayed, vaccinated, flea meds and dewormed) I found out she had a bad URI and severe dental disease. Within her first 2-3 weeks with me she had bloodwork done and got her 2 antibiotics and eye drops so her infections (URI and mouth) got a little better. Once I was able to get enough donations ($1,000) for her dental surgery (all teeth removed) I got her in on 10/22/25. She is now a couple weeks post surgery and her eyes and mouth are so much better. She needs a digestive care/support pate/wet food.
Oyster is currently living in Hayward, CA 94544-5132
