My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

At just 2 years old, Saint has already lived through more than most dogs ever should — yet her spirit is still bright, loving, and full of life. She was found abandoned in the pouring rain, on death’s door, desperately needing medical attention (yes… it truly felt like a Sarah McLachlan infomercial moment). Thankfully, Sky Sanctuary was able to step in and rush her to Veterinary Emergency Group, where she spent weeks fighting her way back to health. Her resilience has continued to shine, even as she battles Valley Fever.

Saint is one of the most remarkable dogs we’ve ever known. She’ll need a family who is gentle, patient, and mindful of her medical needs — but the good news is the worst is behind her. She has improved tremendously, recently completing a full board-and-train program where she was professionally trained learned so much! Her ongoing medical care is now very manageable with just one daily medication.

Despite everything she’s endured, Saint is a pure ray of sunshine — playful, affectionate, eager to love, and eager to learn. She lights up every room she enters. Saint will need an adopter who can stay consistent with her Valley Fever treatment and understands the importance of monitoring her condition. To support her transition, Sky Sanctuary will cover her Valley Fever checkups and treatment for a full year after adoption. With regular care, her condition is very manageable — and she is absolutely worth the extra attention.

If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a dog who will love you with everything she has, please submit an adoption application at skysanctuaryrescue.org/applications. Once your application is received, we’ll be happy to answer any questions and arrange a meet-and-greet with our lovable girl, Saint.

Additional adoption info

Adoption fees vary between $165-$350. That includes all medical vetting, UTD vaccines, spay/neuter, lifetime microchip, an escape proof harness lead and collar & tag. Also, since some our dogs are such a huge flight risk, there may be additional steps needing to happen before the adoption is completed.

More about this rescue

We are a small group of passionate animal advocates that specialize in the humane capture and rescue of stray, fearful and injured animals from the streets of Maricopa County. We also assist pet owners as well as other rescue groups to recover their lost animals. We provide our dogs with a safe place to decompress, learn to trust and receive medical treatment until they are ready to find a forever home. The dogs that we take in are typically more difficult to place due to being fearful and high flight risks. Our animals require special adopters who are patient, diligent and very precautionary in order to keep our "trap dogs" safe. These animals are our passion and we will always do what is best for every animal that crosses our path.
