Lola – 3-Year-Old Australian Cattle Dog Mix
Lola is a sweet, energetic, and lovable 3-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix who came to us with her puppies when her previous owner could no longer care for them. Despite her past, Lola is full of life and ready to find a new family to call her own! Lola is very strong on the leash and will need someone who can help her channel her energy. She’s friendly and playful, especially when it comes to treats in the play yard—she’s definitely a fan! Although she doesn’t quite know how to sit yet and can get a little too excited to focus at times, Lola’s enthusiasm is infectious.
She’s a social girl and loves meeting new people, though she can be a bit hesitant around unfamiliar situations, but warmed up quickly. Lola also met other dogs through the fence and seemed eager to make new friends, showing she’s got a playful spirit and would likely do well with a canine companion, but a meet and greet is always recommended to ensure a good match for all. Lola is a sweet, affectionate pup who just needs a little patience and guidance to help her grow into the best version of herself. She’s ready for a loving home where she can continue to thrive!

All shelter locations are conducting animal viewing and adoptions on a first come, first serve basis. We are not able to move a pet from one location to another for your viewing.
The adoption fee is waived for all available pets in care and in foster homes. Standard adoption practices will still be in place, including background checks.

The City of Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department (AWD) expanded the shelter days of service to seven days a week with operational hours of 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and pet viewing from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m for both the east and west side shelter locations.
