Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Whisper! This high-energy hound loves sniffy walks and romping around with her dog friends. She spent some time in a home and showed significant stress transitioning into the new environment, so a quiet space and plenty of patience will be key in setting her up for success. Though she`s initially worried, she will quickly show her true houndy self once comfortable - countertops beware! She`s a curious gal who will require environmental management while she adjusts to life in a home. Whisper will do best with an adopter who`s excited about using positive reinforcement, and has a sense of humor - training means some trial and error, and it`s important to remember that she never learned the rules! She`s doing her best, and your support and love are key in helping her grow her confidence and practice respecting the boundaries of a human-driven space while still engaging in the enthusiastic exploration that drives her. This spirited girl will be a bit of a project, but she`s ready to put in the work if you are!

More about this shelter
Northeast Animal Shelter, established in 1976, is now part of the MSPCA-Angell, giving us a better opportunity to serve our community, provide additional life-saving programs and services, and protect more animals from cruelty and neglect.
Our adoption program is designed to be welcoming, nonjudgmental, and free of lengthy applications. We strive to engage all prospective adopters in a conversation aimed at matching an adopter’s lifestyle, interests and home environment with an animal’s personality, medical and behavioral needs. Adopting an animal is an extraordinary opportunity to choose your newest family member. At the MSPCA it is a great privilege for our staff and volunteers to guide that journey for adopters and animals.
