My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

💛✨ MEET JACOB — SAFE & SHINING ✨💛
(formerly Nutmeg at the shelter)

Jacob is one of the dogs we were able to pull literally at the last minute during our Houston trip thanks to the fundraiser. At the shelter, he was quiet and aloof. He passed his dog tests and took treats gently, but he wasn’t showing much personality — which meant he wasn’t on anyone’s “favorite” list.

But something about him stuck with us. Even though the clock was running out and the shelter denied an extension, we weren’t ready to give up. We made one more call… and a foster said yes. That yes along with your donations saved his life. 💛

And after a little decompression?
A completely different dog appeared.
Jacob opened up fast — silly, affectionate, playful, leaning in for love, tossing toys, showing all the pieces that were hidden in the shelter.

He’s proof of what a foster home can do.

Jacob is around 3 years old and 62 pounds.
