Good: Beau is a beautiful, 30-lb red/white Border Collie, about 3 years old. No health issues. He is great with people, walks well on a leash, loves to go places, is a good boy in public. He's absolutely devoted, and very loving and affectionate. He knows sit, down, stay, paw, and hug. Has excellent recall.
Bad: Big separation anxiety. Behaviors include collecting items (socks, gloves) of his people, ramping up to chewing things up and marking in the house. Dominance with other male dogs. He will try to dominate, and if the other dog objects, Beau will start a fight. It's mostly noise, and he's never hurt anyone, but it's there. He also chases chickens.
We have had changes in our lives that require us to be gone a lot during the day. He's completely controllable in a kennel, but we don't want him to live in one. He'd be great for someone retired or working from home, or who can take him-like a trucker or contractor. GREAT, loving, sweet and smart companion dog!
