I wanted a companion for my Yorkie, so I decided to adopt another dog. After visiting several shelters, I chose to adopt Chewy from Shake A Paw in Union, NJ
I was told he had been returned because he supposedly bit someone, but he has never bitten anyone in my family. He has been around children and strangers with no issues.
Chewy does bark at people at first, but once you start petting him, he never wants you to stop. He is, however, very jealous of any dog that receives my attention. If I’m giving attention to my Yorkie, he may try to jump on top of her, bark, growl, and he will jump up on me if I’m holding her. I am afraid he will eventually hurt her. When he is being held and petted himself, he is completely content.
Chewy would do best as the only dog in the home. He loves attention, enjoys playing fetch, and adores his toys. With someone who has time and affection just for him, he is truly a little ray of sunshine.
