My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Jersey — A Survivor Ready for Her Forever Home

Jersey is a beautiful Dutch Shepherd, about 1 year old, with a story that speaks to resilience and hope. Saved from death row, she’s been given a second chance — and now she’s ready to find the loving home she’s always deserved.

About Jersey:

• ~1 year old

• Dutch Shepherd

• Fully vetted

• Dog friendly

• Kid friendly

• People friendly

• Food motivated (a trainer’s dream!)

• Kennel trained

• Leash trained

• Potty training going great — uses a bell to let her foster know when she needs to go outside

Jersey is smart, eager to please, and thrives with structure and positive reinforcement. Her food motivation makes continued training fun and rewarding, and her friendly, social nature means she fits well into an active household or family environment.

Despite her rough start, Jersey has blossomed into a confident, loving young dog who’s ready to leave her past behind and step into a future full of stability, adventure, and affection.

Transportation available for the right applicant.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a second-chance story and a bright future ahead, Jersey may be the one.

Apply to adopt and give Jersey the forever home she’s been waiting for.

Mission Statemet
Malinois and Dutch Shepherd Rescue, Inc. (MAD) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization which is dedicated to rescuing Belgian Malinois and Dutch Shepherds who have found themselves without a home (surrendered, discarded, abused, neglected or impounded). All animals that are accepted by MAD are spayed or neutered, given medical attention and rehabilitation, as needed, and placed with foster homes until their health and evaluations are completed and they are ready to be placed in their loving permanent homes.
