FUN FACTS: Paulie came to k9.5 after losing his mother to cancer. She'd adopted him after he'd experienced abuse, and while he was much loved, he didn't get a lot of socialization. Between previous abuse and enjoying his family time, he still holds on to a fear of meeting new people. Once he gets to know you and trusts you, he's a true gem. He loves affection, snuggles, treats (and sits very nicely for them), playing with his buddies, and just hanging out with his people. He's funny, flashes an adorable little boy grin, and loves to run and play. His favorite spot? The middle of the bed.
Paulie needs someone who understands that he's been through a lot in his lifetime, but while he's guarded, he has a big heart. He will do best with a few meet-n-greets prior to the transition to a new home, and will need patience, compassion, and understanding from his adoptive family. Continued socialization training will also be beneficial for Paulie.
