My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Miss Ginger has a grumpy face, but she is sweet as can be! Her and her brother George just love to lay around together on our soft blankets. They are adjusting well to being inside and do very well with other kitties. They are both litter box trained and fixed. Ginger is pretty calm and laid back and she has the softest fur! She is also on the petite side and will most likely stay fairly small. This sweetheart won't be here long, so if you're interested in meeting her, put your application in today! You can complete the adoption application on our website www.schspets.org. If you have questions, give us a call 870-269-5200.

More about this shelter

The Stone County Humane Society is a 501(C)(3) private organization, not a government entity that was formed in 1999. We rescue dogs and cats and are a no-kill shelter but we are not an open take in facility. We are currently operating from our new shelter building recently completed in August 2016 and a cat cottage. Our organization is managed by a volunteer board of 10 individuals and a full-time paid employee shelter manager that handles the day to day operations, and three part-time paid employees that feed and care for the animals and keep the facility clean. Most of our daily operations are funded by proceeds from a Second Chance Shop in town and donations from individuals. We also provide low cost spay/neuter clinics to the people of our county with help from a local vet.
