My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Porter came to us as a stray, and it was clear from the start that life hadn’t always been kind to him. This little guy arrived shy, timid, and unsure of the world around him, carrying the quiet weight of a rough past. But over the month he’s spent with us, we’ve watched him begin to unfold in the most beautiful ways.

Every morning, without fail, Porter greets breakfast with the sweetest burst of joy — the pitter patter of his tiny feet is enough to melt anyone’s heart. Though he’s still head-shy, he truly enjoys the gentle routine of his daily strolls with our volunteers, trotting along with a calm determination that suits his old-soul spirit.

Porter is both blind and deaf, but he navigates his world with grace and surprising confidence. He gets along well with other calm dogs, big or small, and would likely adjust just fine to a more energetic companion as long as they respect his space. What he needs most is a peaceful, patient home where he can feel safe and loved.

He may not be a typical lap dog, but he is a gentle presence who deserves comfort, kindness, and a soft place to rest in this stage of his life.

Porter has weathered so much — now he just needs someone to show him that the world can be gentle, too. If you have a calm home and a heart ready to love an old soul, Porter is waiting.
