My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Second-Chance Superstar: Sage Is Ready for His Forever Home!

Sage is 1 year old and weighs 55 lbs. He is smart, sweet, people-pleasing - very much a Good Boy! He is also treat motivated and gets along with other dogs.
Sage is the kind of dog who makes you smile every single day. Recently rescued from euthanasia at an over-crowded city shelter, this young pup is truly getting his second chance — and he’s making the most of it.

He arrived as a goofy, eager boy with lots to learn, and wow, has he blown us away with how quickly he picks things up!

This boy is crazy smart and wants nothing more than to please his people. With consistent training, he has made a lot of progress and even when he slips up, he listens the moment he's reminded. for example, Within the first few days, he understood that “down” followed by a treat means staying on the floor.Such a quick learner!

Sage has also mastered polite manners around treats. He and the resident dog come inside and sit patiently for treats every time. Sage knows “sit,” “wait,” and he even corrects himself if he tries to sneak a treat that’s not his. He truly wants to do the right thing.

Sage is loving, affectionate, food-motivated, eager to learn, and already so well-mannered for a young dog. He’s becoming the perfect family companion, and with his big heart and bigger desire to bond, he’s going to make his forever family very, very lucky. Sage is dog friendly (with proper intros of course), but we are unsure of how he is around cats. His foster frequently has younger children over and Sage does well. Sage is fully vetted, neutered, microchipped and ready to bloom with you!

If you can open your heart & home to dear Sage, please contact AmsterDog by call/text at 917-689-8414 or by email at info@amsterdog.org. Apply to adopt Sage at AmsterDog.org.

Thanks for caring about a pet in need!

Sage is currently being fostered in Endwell, NY. Transportation provided to approved adopters.

Go meet their pets

AmsterDog Rescue does not have its own facility. Instead, we rely on fosters to care for our beloved animals. Our available animals may change depending on your location and we do transport animals for adoptions within a reasonable distance. Since you will possibly be speaking with and meeting a foster directly, an application must be filled out prior to meet and greets.

For adoption inquiries, please contact AmsterDog Rescue at 917-689-8414 or info@amsterdog.org. To get the process started, please fill out our online application at www.amsterdog.org/application.
