Hello! I am Pepper, a four-year-old black and white tuxedo girl who has made the difficult transition from my street life of my early 2 years to the better life of a pampered indoor girl. I am learning to trust the humans in my life now but sometimes I still forget. What that means is that if I am taken unaware or startled, I might swat and hiss very convincingly but as I have become more comfortable in my foster home, I am getting more used to things and am finding that I dont need to behave this way so much.
But let me tell you the positive stuff about this new indoor life and theres so much to like! I get food 2-3 times a day and I dont have to hunt for it! Thats BIG! Litter boxes are great and someone else cleans it! And play I did not have time to play before I had to survive. Now I know about that red laser dot. You should see me scramble down the stairs trying to catch it or go around in circles trying to catch it. My foster mom laughs at my antics. The wand toys are fun too, some with feathers, other with fluffy worms (which I tear up), I have even gone after a mouse, but it wasnt much of a challenge. It didnt even try to get away. I like those long, slow head to tail pets too. Head scritches are OK but I like the long slow ones. Mostly I prefer to keep my feet on the floor for petting, but my foster mom has picked me up and put me in her lap where I stayed for a few minutes. I think I will eventually enjoy being in your lap more but remember, I am a work in progress.
I am looking for a quiet home with a cat-savvy, patient human who will enjoy watching me become the Queen of the House. Please come in to meet me and bring my crown!
