My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Reptar is a striking Catahoula Leopard Dog x Pit Bull who came into SPCA care as a stray. While his past is a mystery, his personality shines through - he's an exuberant, high-energy boy who loves to be on the go. Strong, athletic, and eager to please, Reptar is also very smart and would thrive working with an Animal Kind trainer to improve his basic manners and keep his mind stimulated.

He's looking for an experienced family who can handle his physical strength and provide plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. Because of his exuberance, Reptar is best suited to a home without small children. With consistency, patience, and love, he'll grow into a loyal companion who brings endless energy and affection to the right household.

Reptar is currently awaiting his neuter surgery, so is available for foster-to-adopt local to the South Okanagan area.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
