Initially very shy, Dort has been blossoming into a silly and sweet boy.
He's still on the shy side, but is starting to enjoy getting attention from the volunteers.
Dort would like a calm and quiet home.
Dort was diagnosed as FIV positive. We will retest him in February 2026.
Dort is about 8 months old and VERY cute.
His black and white markings are so unique!
Dort is a special guy.
He likes watching the volunteers work in the cat building and then zips around his cage, batting at toys and asking to be paid attention to.
If he is truly FIV positive, Dort will either need to be a) the only cat, b) with other FIV cats, c) with non-FIV cats who are sterilized and will be introduced slowly and carefully with no indication of fighting.
FIV is mainly spread through deep bite wounds.
Please speak with a veterinarian for more info on FIV.
There are also many online sources to learn about FIV, such as https://www.alleycat.org/resources/feline-immunodeficiency-virus-fiv/
Dort is such a neat cat; he needs the right person or people to show him love and understanding.
His adoption fee is currently waived, in hopes of him being adopted sooner.
