What is Rehome?
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
I pulled a dog from a pet adoption center. The female dog came from a hoarding situation in Westminster where 25 dogs were found. She was terrified at first and she is still shaky, but she is slowly coming around.
She does not do well with other dogs yet and would not be a good match for a home with small children. She is still learning how to feel safe in the world. Even so, she is incredibly sweet and gentle with people.
She was used for breeding at just one year old and is now two. The shelter labeled her as half Maltese and half beagle, but my vet friend believes she is likely part Chihuahua and either Papillon or Pomeranian.
She has been very cuddly with us and finds comfort in her crate.
