My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Animal Profile: Meli is an estimated 1 1/2 yr old female Airedale terrier mix currently weighing approximately 39 lbs. She has been a helper during dog play groups and has been a bit on the shy side on day trips. We will share more as she settles into her Seattle foster home.

Foster Update: Meli, Hawaiian for 'honey,' is such a sweet girl! In the home she is great with meeting new people, and has a soft temperament and nature. She doesn't jump and has been fabulous meeting teenage kids up to adults. She is dog friendly and enjoys playing. We think she will do best in a cat free home as she has proven to be relentless in the chase. On walks she is demonstrating some excitement and reactivity to people/dogs/bikes, but is making steady improvements in this area. We are working on teaching her better manners, how the leash works, and building impulse control and confidence. Meli has had some big life changes, but despite all the chaos, she remains sweet as honey on the inside. She deserves an adopter who is patient and willing to give her the chance she hasn't had  previously -- the chance to be the loving, sweet companion she is.

Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166).
