What is Rehome?
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
We adopted a dog from the Golden Valley Humane Society about a year ago now and are looking to re-home him. The dog, who we renamed Bobby, has been very loving, attentive and happy with our family. His tail is always wagging, he is very obedient and potty trained and loves our kids, but gets overprotective, which has unfortunately resulted in him biting 2 people and getting in fights with other dogs.
We have put him in training and he has made some big strides in terms of obedience, but we haven't been able to train out his protection instinct and are concerned that we may not be able to provide the ideal situation for him, given that we live in a neighborhood with many other dogs, kids, and activity.
What Bobby needs is a loving family/owner who do not have the constant visitors and contact with other dogs that we have. If he is in this type of situation, he will do great and truly be a wonderful companion!
