What is Rehome?
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Frito is an almost 6-year-old mixed breed we adopted as a puppy after he recovered from parvo. He is a smart, affectionate, deeply loyal dog who loves walks, snuggling, keep-away games, and being close to his person. He does wonderfully in structured environments like dog daycare and is often used to help more nervous dogs feel comfortable.
Frito needs a calm, adult-only home with someone who understands dog body language and can give him consistent structure. He is sensitive, eager to please, and bonds strongly with his primary human. Because he can be protective in confined spaces and around small children, he isn't a fit for homes with kids.
In the right environment, Frito is an incredible companion; sweet, goofy, and loyal. We love him deeply and want him to have the peaceful, child-free home where he can thrive. Frito has never bitten anyone, but he did lunge at our toddler while resource guarding me and this incident is why we've decided to rehome him.
